I\u2019m J\u00f6rgen<\/a> L\u00f6wenfeldt<\/a>, a Stockholm-based author, journalist, and generalist*. I work at Nordiska museet, where I lead collecting projects<\/a> focused on contemporary life. Previously, I served as Head of Operations at the Internet Museum<\/a>, exploring Sweden\u2019s digital cultural heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a writer, I have published the novel Ensamma tillsammans<\/em>\/Alone Together and the podcast short story series M\u00e4nniskor som g\u00e5r iv\u00e4g<\/em>\/People Who Walk Away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Privately, I share my life with my family, hundreds of plants, a number that keeps growing, and a private library of several thousand book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My interests range from Eastern European literature, strange maps, the concept of time, bizarre history, dromomania, the fern craze, parallel universes, and the world of Marcel Proust. The Bagatelles<\/a><\/em> are the node where everything that is me comes together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n* Among my harder-to-categorise credentials: as a teenager, I started a web agency<\/a> (two of the projects include a still-active IFK Norrk\u00f6ping website<\/a> and a literary community<\/a> that was slightly ahead of its time) and, at nineteen, became head of PR<\/a> for Kenya\u2019s top football club. Since then I have studied to become a psychologist, worked as a crime reporter<\/a>, and served on the board<\/a> of the club of my dreams, yes, the very same IFK Norrk\u00f6ping<\/a>. At the moment, I co-host a podcast about ideas<\/a> with my uncle and co-own a fast food chain<\/a>.

Author:<\/strong> I made my debut as a novelist in 2017 with \u201cEnsamma tillsammans\u201d<\/a>. The novel was published by United Stories<\/a> through online retailers, by Mima F\u00f6rlag<\/a> in traditional bookshops, and by Storytel<\/a> as an audiobook. The title is a nod to psychologist Sherry Turkle\u2019s book Alone Together<\/em>, which examines the digital society. Much of the story is set within the psychology programme at Karolinska Institutet, with some press coverage<\/a> where I elaborate further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The podcast short stories deserve a chapter of their own. Sveriges Radio\u2019s Radionovellen<\/em> commissioned a single story, but I wrote thirteen. The one that was broadcast was titled \u201cMen Who Do Not Wait\u201d<\/a> and aired on P1. The remaining stories were released in the fiction podcast \u201cPeople Who Walk Away\u201d<\/a>, each text with a new voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Journalist:<\/strong> I have worked, among other places, at TT News Agency, Internetworld, Norrk\u00f6pings Tidningar, and Nacka V\u00e4rmd\u00f6 Posten, where I served as web editor and deputy responsible publisher. For almost ten years I wrote for NT Kultur. Some of my articles have also appeared in FLM<\/a>, ETC, the magazine Television<\/em>, and Ny Teknik<\/em>.
My studies were completed at JMK.
