I’m Jörgen Löwenfeldt, a Stockholm-based author, journalist, and generalist*. I work at Nordiska museet, where I lead collecting projects focused on contemporary life. Previously, I served as Head of Operations at the Internet Museum, exploring Sweden’s digital cultural heritage.
As a writer, I have published the novel Ensamma tillsammans/Alone Together and the podcast short story series Människor som går iväg/People Who Walk Away.
Privately, I share my life with my family, hundreds of plants, a number that keeps growing, and a private library of several thousand book.
My interests range from Eastern European literature, strange maps, the concept of time, bizarre history, dromomania, the fern craze, parallel universes, and the world of Marcel Proust. The Bagatelles are the node where everything that is me comes together.

* Among my harder-to-categorise credentials: as a teenager, I started a web agency (two of the projects include a still-active IFK Norrköping website and a literary community that was slightly ahead of its time) and, at nineteen, became head of PR for Kenya’s top football club. Since then I have studied to become a psychologist, worked as a crime reporter, and served on the board of the club of my dreams, yes, the very same IFK Norrköping. At the moment, I co-host a podcast about ideas with my uncle and co-own a fast food chain.
Author: I made my debut as a novelist in 2017 with “Ensamma tillsammans”. The novel was published by United Stories through online retailers, by Mima Förlag in traditional bookshops, and by Storytel as an audiobook. The title is a nod to psychologist Sherry Turkle’s book Alone Together, which examines the digital society. Much of the story is set within the psychology programme at Karolinska Institutet, with some press coverage where I elaborate further.
The podcast short stories deserve a chapter of their own. Sveriges Radio’s Radionovellen commissioned a single story, but I wrote thirteen. The one that was broadcast was titled “Men Who Do Not Wait” and aired on P1. The remaining stories were released in the fiction podcast “People Who Walk Away”, each text with a new voice.
Journalist: I have worked, among other places, at TT News Agency, Internetworld, Norrköpings Tidningar, and Nacka Värmdö Posten, where I served as web editor and deputy responsible publisher. For almost ten years I wrote for NT Kultur. Some of my articles have also appeared in FLM, ETC, the magazine Television, and Ny Teknik.
My studies were completed at JMK.
